Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble is pleased to present two original performances inspired by the poetry and mysticism of Rumi at Defibrillator Performance Art Gallery. Join us Thursday through Saturday May 16-25, 2013 as we remount “Mirrors” and present the world premiere of “Touch”, a lyrical look at the chance encounters that alter the course of our lives. “Mirrors” was first produced by writer, director, and choreographer, Ellyzabeth Adler working in collaboration with Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble Artist Director Jack Ryan in the fall of 2011. “Mirrors” tells the story of four alienated characters whose longing for connection in a world that privileges individualism is brought into focus as they each encounter mirror images of themselves. After closing “Mirrors” to favorable reviews, Adler again turned to the poetry of Rumi, to develop “Touch”. Premiering for the first time anywhere, “Touch”, tells the story of a young woman and an elderly man, whose chance meeting at a cemetery brings their lives closer than they ever could have imagined.

CHI is the Life-Force, the Ki (Key), Mana, or dynamic vital energy which pervades all of life. The KA is the Spirit-Soul, our gathering of that CHI force into the uniqueness of our own being. And GO, the Oriental Game of Strategies, expresses the choices we make to share that uniqueness with our community. The CHI KA GO community coalesces every Second Sunday at Yoga Now through dancing, loving, healing, singing and celebrating until the midnight hour. We offer this opportunity to join our community together with a variety of new modalities through the arts while sharing our hearts and souls with one another. You are welcome to release your barriers, set your intentions and open to our wide-ranging spectrum of creativity.

Our focus is to assist each spiritual body to achieve enlightenment through modulating the lightwave. We will consciously connect with the power of our unconscious mind, thus allowing for clearing space for positive global manifestation. These gatherings will also allow each individual to connect into a new space continuum by focusing on a group oriented interactive meditative practice. It is our universal vision that by providing spiritual resources for creative living, each individual soul can learn to have inner faith, love, trust, forgiveness and communication.
